Aaron Berry is Deputy Head of the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) at the UK Department for Transport. OLEV work to support the UK’s ambitions to transition to ultra low emission vehicles (ULEVs). Aaron leads teams responsible for regulation and incentive schemes that support the roll-out of chargepoint infrastructure for electric vehicles. Aaron studied at Keele University where he graduated with a first class degree in environmental management and business. He is married and lives near London with his wife and three teenage sons.
Graeme leads National Grid’s work on electric vehicles/decarbonisation of transport by leading and coordinating all the work relating to the UK regulated business of National Grid. As National Grid separates the Transmission Ownership (TO) from the System Operation (SO) by April 2019, Graeme will be representing the TO business of National Grid. His work helps the Government, the energy and automotive industry’s transition towards zero emission vehicles. With over a decade in communications infrastructure and over a decade in low/zero carbon electricity, Graeme is a well-known and highly respected energy industry expert.Graeme is a graduate of Oxford Brookes University (BSc 1997) and Bi Norwegian Business School (MBA Energy 2016).Graeme takes his decarbonisation work home with him as he drives a PHEV and BEV and heats his home using ground source heat pumps.
Alex Harrison is an energy partner at Hogan Lovells. He advises clients on power generation, greenfield and brownfield project development, project and structured financing, electricity regulation, electricity and emissions trading, and acquisitions and disposals across the renewables, low carbon and thermal power sectors. He has worked on coal, gas, LNG to power, carbon capture and storage (CCS), nuclear, wind, solar, biomass, hydro and energy storage transactions. Alex also advises clients in relation to energy transition, aggregation and digitalization issues; on electric vehicle (EV) charging and the electrification of transport and heat; and on the development, financing and regulation of grid network infrastructure assets.

He is a global leading practitioner on international contract drafting, procurement, and distribution, as well as an experienced regulatory advisor. Within more than 15 years he has gained considerable knowledge of commercial and regulatory matters, advising global companies, particularly in the industrial and consumer goods industry sectors. Patrick heads the Commercial practice area in Germany and is on the leadership team of the global Commercial practice area. He is also the Global Head of the Industry Sector Group Automotive and Mobility at Hogan Lovells.

Philip is the Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Systems Catapult. The Energy Systems Catapult was established in April 2015 with the remit to support the transition of the UK Energy System and enable economic growth from the many commercial and technological opportunities that will be created as the way we make, distribute and use energy undergoes radical change over the coming decades. The scope includes the interaction of energy with adjacent sectors, including water and transportHe is a Commissioner on the global Energy Transition Commission and a member of the Global Futures Council of the World Economic Forum. Philip is also a Fellow of the Energy Institute and sits on various Advisory Panels.Before joining the Catapult Philip worked for BP for over 30 years in a range of commercial and general management positions, mostly in customer-facing businesses, operating in Asia, North and South America, and Europe. Philip has an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University, and lives in Oxford, UK with his wife. His three children are now at University.
Marzia brings a wealth of Energy and Policy experience to Kaluza having spent over 20 years working on policies and strategies to enable the energy transition for regulators, business and not for profit sectors. In her most recent role, Marzia was Director of Insights at the World Energy Council and led a team of global energy experts on unlocking opportunities related to the energy transition. Prior to that, Marzia worked for Sempra Energy in Los Angeles and was a policy advisor for California’s energy regulator in San Francisco. Here she was instrumental in their smart meter rollout and in the early regulatory work to help legitimise ride sharing companies including Uber and Lyft. In her new role as Kaluza’s Head of Customer Policy & Strategy, Marzia will ensure that the consumer remains at the heart of the transition to a decarbonised energy system.Marzia has a degree in Business and Accounting from San Diego, California.
Edmund King has been President of the Automobile Association since 2008 and is also a Visiting Professor of Transport at Newcastle University. He is also a trustee and director of the AA Charitable Trust for Road Safety and the Environment. The Trust won a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award in 2018 for ten years of innovative road safety campaigns.He has a politics degree from Newcastle University and a postgraduate diploma in broadcasting. He has worked as a committee secretary for the Social Science Research Council, for a Government Department in Whitehall, in public relations for a wine company in Burgundy, in the motor industry in California, as a broadcaster in Los Angeles, as Campaigns Co-Coordinator for the British Road Federation, and for various motoring groups and think tanks.He has written several reports on transport and often appears as a transport commentator on radio and television. He was awarded an OBE for ‘services to road safety’ in the 2016 Queen’s New Year Honours. He was runner-up in the Wolfson Economics Prize 2017 alongside his wife, Deirdre, for their thesis on ‘Road Miles’.
Ian Stillie was elected to serve as Chief Executive of ZPN Energy in August 2018. He is an entrepreneur and business leader, with extensive experience in serving on the Board of Directors within a variety of industries including media, pharma, sport and software across international markets. His academic foundations incorporate an MBA from Strathclyde University, a degree in mining engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and a BSc in mining and petroleum engineering from Strathclyde University. He is also a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and FRSA.
Catherine supports the BVRLA’s policy and lobbying activities with specific focus on decarbonisation, air quality and future mobility. Catherine has worked in senior policy roles for over 13 years and has experience of working within private, public sector and not-for-profit organisations. She has previously worked for the British Retail Consortium, where she held the post of senior policy lead for crime and security.
With over 25 years of research and industry experience in telecom and energy, Joachim joined Gemserv leading on Smart Energy and Electric Vehicles. He previously led on complex innovation projects across the E-Mobility and Smart Energy space for E.ON, chairing the Energy UK EV working group (2016 –2018) and supporting technical standards development.
James is a passionate advocate of electric vehicles, with nearly 10 years’ experience at Pod Point, following a career as an environmental consultant. As Pod Point’s third longest serving member, James has worked in Sales, Customer Operations and now Head of Insights, tasked with communicating to industry and key stakeholders, sharing his knowledge on all things EV charging. Ian Cameron has over 20 years’ international experience in the electricity distribution networks industry. His background is in network operation, capital construction and connections, with a specific focus on renewable energy and system optimisation, this focus is supported through his Electrical and Mechanical degrees.As Head of Innovation for UK Power Networks, Ian’s role includes management of the central team of highly skilled engineers providing support to the business and industry through developing innovative solutions to strategic key focus areas. These focus areas being readiness of the distribution network for the low carbon transition, future business / operating models and efficient and effective delivery of existing business outputs. Furthermore, Ian has overall accountability for innovation delivery programmes and innovation strategic direction.Ian’s career started in Eskom South Africa, where he left the position of Senior Technical Specialist, he then joined UK firm Freedom Group Power Projects division as Regional delivery manager. Since joining UK Power Networks Ian has overseen the delivery and connection of over 230 large renewable distributed generation sites, adding over 4GW to the grid in three years before moving on to his current role as head of the industry-leading Innovation Team.
Stephane Tetot, Director, is a Portfolio Manager with BlackRock's Global Renewable Power platform which currently manages close to $5bn across more than 150 wind and solar projects across 4 continents. Stephane is responsible for originating, executing and managing renewable power investment opportunities in Europe.
Steve is Director of the RAC Foundation, an independent charitable think-tank that commissions and disseminates research relating to motoring. Recent reports have covered topics including the safety of older drivers, the number of speeding offences detected by different police forces, and the roll-out of chargepoints for electric vehicles.Steve took over at the Foundation in 2015 after a long civil service career encompassing many transport-related roles, latterly as Director General for Roads, Traffic & Local at the Department for Transport. After graduating from Durham University Steve joined the civil service in 1983, moving to the Transport Department in 1987 where, amongst other roles, he was private secretary to transport ministers Peter Bottomley, Michael Portillo and Roger Freeman. Steve is a fellow of the CIHT, vice-president of the CILT, a trustee of the Rees Jeffreys Road Fund, a regular columnist in Highways magazine and commentator on transport issues in the media.
Throughout his career, Matt has been involved in various parts of the energy value chain from market research and consulting (Bloomberg New Energy Finance) to electricity supply (Good Energy and Tempus Energy) and renewables development (Livos Energy). Matt has also served in the US Peace Corps in SE Asia, worked for the Democratic Party in the 2004 Presidential election and was a 4-year collegiate athlete. Matt has a passion for business model innovation and disruption, with the goal of improvement that can be measured financially, socially and environmentally.
Ian is Account Manager, Supply Chain at the Energy Saving Trust. The organisation is dedicated to help people and businesses save energy and has a dedicated transport team.His role includes providing technical support for the Trust’s extensive work supporting private and public organisations transition to Ultra Low Emission Vehicles. Ian also leads the Trust’s work with the new and used vehicle supply chain, helping the sector understand and effectively sell electric cars and vans.Ian has provided technical input into a number of reports including SMMT’s Electric Car Guide 2011, Plugged in Fleets published by The Climate Group 2012, Plugged in Fleets Initiative –charging forward published by EST 2013, Getting to grips with grey fleet published by BVRLA 2016 and Low Emission Taxi Guide published by LowCvp 2018.Before joining the Energy Saving Trust, Ian worked in the leasing and fleet management industry and is a member of the Institute of the Motor Industry.
Christopher is Uber's UKI Clean Air Lead. This means he is responsible for Uber’s ambition to be 100% electric in London by 2025 and helping to scale up sustainability efforts across the UK and beyond. This includes helping to shape Uber’s plan to be zero emissions by 2040. He sits on Global Action Plan's Business Clean Air Taskforce and regularly engages with government, regulators, NGOs and other companies about how to encourage more sustainable transport. Prior to joining Uber in 2019, Christopher spent ten years as a sustainability strategy consultant at Accenture Strategy, culminating in leading Accenture’s Sustainable Finance practice. During this time he worked closely with Accenture Development Partnerships, applying his knowledge of sustainability to support large NGOs and development organisations.
