James Hennessy is a Senior Vice President and Senior Advisor in the Supervision Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Since 2014, he has led the New York Fed’s Governance and Culture Reform Initiative.
Mr. Hennessy joined the Bank in 1992 as an attorney in the Legal Group. He was the corporate secretary of the Bank and special assistant to former New York Fed President William McDonough from 1998-2000, and chief of staff to former New York Fed President Timothy Geithner from 2003-2006.  During the Financial Crisis he managed the Bank’s legal team advising on the rescue and restructuring of AIG. He joined the Supervision Group in 2011 and, during the autumn of 2015, served as its interim head.
Mr. Hennessy holds a B.A. degree from St. John’s College, an M.S. degree from Columbia University School of Urban Planning, and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law. He also holds an Executive Master in Change degree from INSEAD’s program on organizational culture and change management.

Anthony Belchambers

Anthony Belchambers is a barrister, an NED of Westpac Europe and NED and chairman designate of TFS-ICAP. He is also Chairman of the Industry Advisory Group to the APPG on Financial Markets and Services.
He was previously general counsel of the London derivative markets and, before that, of a UK regulatory authority. More recently, he was founder and CEO of the FOA (now part of FIA) and a co-founder and deputy chairman of the European Parliamentary Financial Services Forum. Anthony is also a Freeman of the City of London.

He is consulted extensively by industry bodies for his specialist knowledge, insight, and prior in-house experience and is frequently quoted as a leading regulatory authority in the mainstream press and industry journals.

Alison Cottrell is the founding CEO of the Banking Standards Board (BSB), a non-statutory membership organisation established in April 2015 to help raise standards of behaviour and competence across the UK banking sector (and now working also with a range of firms and organisations both outside banking and globally). Alison began her career as a City economist covering international fixed income and currency markets. In 2001 she joined HM Treasury, and was Director of Financial Services from 2009 to 2015 with responsibility for a wide range of policy areas. She combined this role for three years with that of Director of Corporate Services, focusing on staff development and organisational culture.

Georges Elhedery was appointed Group Managing Director and Co-CEO of Global Banking &
Markets in March 2020. He is also head of the Markets & Securities Services division of the
business. Mr Elhedery is responsible for the strategic direction and delivery of the business, which operates in more than 55 countries and territories, serving clients across HSBC Group.

Mr Elhedery joined HSBC in 2005 as a senior Global Markets executive with extensive trading
experience in London, Paris and Tokyo. He later moved to Dubai and served as Regional Head
of Global Markets, Middle East and North Africa (MENA); then as Head of Global Banking &
Markets, MENA; and later as CEO for HSBC, Middle East, North Africa and Turkey. More
recently, Mr Elhedery served as Head of Global Markets based in London.

Mr Elhedery holds a degree in Engineering from the École Polytechnique in Paris, France, as
well as a postgraduate degree in Statistics and Economics from the École Nationale de la
Statistique et de l'Administration Économique (ENSAE).

Paul Feeney was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Quilter plc (previously Old Mutual Wealth) in August 2012. Quilter is a leading provider of advice, investments and wealth management in the UK and internationally.  
Paul Feeney is an experienced, entrepreneurial leader, having held various senior business roles in large international financial services businesses, including as CEO of NatWest Private Bank and NatWest Investments USA, Group Managing Director and Head of Distribution for Gartmore Investment Management and Global Head of Distribution at BNY Mellon Asset Management International. 
During his career, Paul has developed a deep understanding of the challenges, risks and opportunities faced by the industry. He has been able to leverage this experience as a member of the FCA’s Practitioner Panel. Paul is also a passionate advocate for the importance of breaking down the stigma often associated with mental health.

Joe became Nationwide Building Society’s Chief Executive Officer in April 2016, inspired by the Society’s principle of mutuality. As a building society, Nationwide was founded for a social purpose; to help members buy their own homes and improve people’s lives. Nationwide is one of the UK's largest mutual organisations and the world’s largest building society, with 16 million members and 18 thousand employees. Joe is passionate about Nationwide’s core purpose of ‘building society, nationwide’ and even throughout this pandemic, continues to be guided by the Society’s values and mutual difference. Between 2011 and 2013, Joe was Chair of the Financial Services Authority Practitioner Panel, re-joining as a Financial Conduct Authority panel member in 2016. In addition, between 2007 and 2010, he was a non-executive Director of the Financial Ombudsman Service. Joe’s career started with Procter & Gamble and Dixons Carphone. Joe joined HSBC in 2004, latterly appointed as Head of HSBC’s, Retail and Commercial Bank, UK. In 2014 he became Chief Executive Officer of Openreach.

Tom Gosling is an Executive Fellow in the Department of Finance at LBS where he contributes to the evidence-based practice of responsible business by connecting academic research, public policy, and corporate action. He works with the Centre for Corporate Governance and the Leadership Institute at LBS.

Tom has 20+ years of experience as a board adviser and is a leading independent authority on corporate governance and responsible business. Most recently he was a senior Partner at PwC where he established and led the firm’s executive pay practice, advising FTSE-100 and equivalent private and European companies on corporate governance and executive pay including ABB, Barclays, BHP, BP, Flutter, GSK, Kerring, Old Mutual, RBS (NatWest), RSA, Standard Chartered, Tesco, and Unilever.

Prior to joining PwC, Tom was a Research Fellow in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at Cambridge University. He has a PhD in Applied Mathematics and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

Tom is also a member of the Steering Committee of The Purposeful Company, a think tank devoted to identifying ways in which the UK corporate governance environment can be developed to support companies that create profit through fulfilling a purpose that benefits society. Reports Tom has co-authored in this role include The Purposeful Company Study into Deferred Shares, exploring market attitudes to alternatives to traditional Long-term Incentive Plans, which was highlighted by the Investment Association in their November 2019 letter to FTSE-350 companies; The Purposeful Company submission to the FRC on the review of the UK Stewardship Code; and The Purposeful Company Executive Remuneration Report, which is a comprehensive review of the academic evidence relating to executive pay levels and structure.

As part of his role, Tom engages extensively with regulators such as BEIS, the FRC and the FCA on remuneration, corporate governance and stewardship policy matters. He participated in a joint PwC and London Business School team commissioned by BEIS to fulfil the Government’s manifesto commitment to study the impact of share buybacks on executive pay and investment and represented London Business School on the FCA’s Purpose Working Group, contributing to the Discussion Paper on Transforming culture in financial services – driving purposeful cultures. Tom has given evidence to the BEIS Select Committee and the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards

She is the Business Partner to the CEO and is responsible for the commercially focussed financial management of the GB operations. She challenges the operation of the business, acts as a catalyst for change and drives opportunities for improvement and business development through in-depth analysis of financial information and operational metrics. Previous roles held include Head of Finance Business Partnering and FP&A for Europe at AIG, Commercial Finance Business Partner for UK at Royal and Sun Alliance and Assistant Audit Manager at Deloitte and PriceWaterhouseCoopers; in the United Kingdom, Bermuda and Southern Africa.

Netsai is a strong advocate for Education; she is a Council Member of the Insurance Institute of London "IIL", a Trustee of the Lloyd's Tercentenary Research Foundation "LTRF" and most recently fundraised to rebuild Mayezane Primary School in rural Zimbabwe helping to keep 214 children in school.

She is listed as one of the 100 most influential black people in Britain on the Powerlist, BAME Board Talent Index and EMpower Ethnic Minority Executives. She is also named as one of the 100 Women to Watch by Cranfield University and was accorded Women In The City’s Highly Commended Award. She has been featured regularly in the press as a Top Woman leading the way in Finance and within Insurance.

Tulsi Naidu has been appointed APAC CEO of Zurich Insurance with effect from 1st January, 2021, based in Singapore. She has 20 years of financial services experience in Europe and Asia having worked in the UK, India, Singapore and Hong Kong across both Life and General insurance.

As the current Chief Executive Officer of Zurich Insurance Group in the UK Ms. Naidu has reshaped and simplified the business, improved technical and digital capabilities and strengthened the team, resulting in Zurich’s UK business returning to strong growth with improved profitability and high customer, distributor and employee satisfaction.  She is an experienced commercial leader and is an active voice on issues such as responsible business, customer focus, the role of insurance in building resilient communities, and diversity in the workplace.

Prior to joining Zurich, Tulsi spent 14 years at Prudential UK, including as Executive Director with responsibility for commercial leadership, and as Chief Operating Officer. Earlier in her career she worked at Credit Suisse First Boston, ICICI and Arthur Andersen.  

Tulsi is Chair of the Financial Conduct Authority Practitioner Panel, a member of the Board of the Association of British Insurers and of the CBI President’s Council.  She is a Trustee of TeachFirst and Zurich Community Trust, as well as a former Pilotlight volunteer and Trustee.  

Tulsi graduated from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad with a Post Graduate Diploma in Management.

Cristina Nestares

Cristina Nestares is Chief Executive Officer of Admiral, a UK market leader of Car, Home, Van and Travel insurance and renowned Great Place to Work. Cristina joined Admiral Group in 2005 following the completion of her MBA at INSEAD Business School. She began her Admiral career by founding Admiral’s Spanish Insurance operation (Admiral Seguros) which she successfully ran for 7 years. Cristina then expanded her remit, managing both the group’s Insurance and Price Comparison businesses in France, Italy and Spain, before taking on her current role of Admiral UK CEO in 2016. In total, Cristina has over 18 years’ international experience predominantly gained within the financial service sector, with other areas including consulting and non-profit organisations. In her free time she is a volunteer and trustee of ‘The Wallich’ a charity tackling homelessness in Wales, and has recently completed an Advanced Management Programme at Harvard University.

Saker is CEO of the international business of Federated Hermes, appointed November 2011, having joined in June 2009 as CIO. He is also a member of the Federated Hermes Executive team. Prior to this, Saker was Global Head of Equities at Fortis Investments, having previously been CIO Global Equities since 2005. Before this, he was CIO of Global Equities and Head of Marketing for SGAM UK. This followed SGAM’s acquisition of Trust Company of the West, where Saker was a Managing Director running global and international strategies, as well the London office. He started his career at Mercury Asset Management in 1987.
Saker is founder of the 300 Club and was an inaugural member of the CFA Institute’s Future of Finance Advisory Council from 2013 until 2019. He is a member of the IIRC Council, the FCA-PRA Climate Financial Risk Forum, the United Nations Environmental Programme Financial Initiative Steering Committee, the Banking Standards Board, the UK National Advisory Board on Impact Investing, and the advisory Board of the National Youth Orchestra.

In 2018, Saker was named CEO of the Year at the Financial News Asset Management Europe Awards. He has a BA and PhD in Medieval History from King's College, University of London.

Saker was awarded a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the Queen’s 2019 New Year's Honours list for services to Responsible Business and Finance.

Teresa Parker is president for EMEA, responsible for Northern Trust’s business and regulatory affairs in the region. Teresa also sits on Northern Trust Corporation’s Management Group.
Prior to her appointment to lead the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, Teresa spent three years as the chief operating officer for Corporate & Institutional Services with global responsibility for Northern Trust’s business capabilities, technology and operating model.
Before taking up the COO role, Teresa spent five years as head of Asia- Pacific (APAC), overseeing the rapid and extensive expansion of the corporation’s presence in the region.
Over the course of her 37 year career with Northern Trust, Teresa has been based in London, Singapore and Chicago and has held numerous executive leadership roles including head of institutional and wealth management businesses in EMEA, global head of asset servicing and global head of securities lending.

Ian Peters joined the Institute of Business Ethics as its Director in May 2020. He was previously Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (UK and Ireland) from 2009 until December 2019.

Ian's roles have included Head of SME Policy at the Confederation of British Industry, Deputy Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce, Director of External Affairs at the Engineering Employers Federation (EEF) and a period in public relations for PR agency Burson-Marsteller.

He has held a number of non-executive and public appointments including Chair of the Independent Monitoring Panel of the UK Chartered Banker Professional Standards Board, member of the UK Regulatory Policy Committee and its predecessor, the Better Regulation Task Force, and member of the Court of the University of Lancaster. He is currently a member of a number of committees and panels concerned with business ethics.

He holds a PhD from Southampton University on the small business contribution to economic growth and a BA in Geography from the University Lancaster.

In 2015 Ian was awarded an MBE for services to regulatory reform in the UK.

Mikael has been a member of Handelsbanken’s Group Senior Management since 2013.

In 2017, Mikael joined as a Board Practitioner Member of the UK Banking Standards Board – a body established to promote high standards of behaviour and competence across UK banks. He also sits on the Council of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, a not for profit organisation aimed at supporting entrepreneurs and businesses within the Swedish-British business community.

Mikael finished a Higher Financial Education within corporate banking, credit analysis and management, and completed Copenhagen University Law School.

Patrick Thomson is Chief Executive Officer for EMEA, J.P. Morgan Asset Management based in London. He is Deputy Chair of the Board of the Investment Association, representing UK’s investment management industry, and a Member of the UK Government’s Treasury Task Force. Patrick joined J.P. Morgan Asset Management in 1995 and worked in Singapore 2000-2005 as global head of sovereigns, with extensive experience in reserves management in Asia and the Middle East, and has worked with many of the largest asset owners in the world.
After graduating from Edinburgh University with an MA (Hons), Patrick served as an officer in the British Army for five years, and is co-chair of the EMEA VETS group at JP Morgan. He qualified as a member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals in 2000.

Sophie is a partner in Eversheds Sutherland Human Resources group and co-heads the Eversheds Sutherland Financial Institutions Employment group. 
She is a highly experienced employment lawyer, having qualified in 2003, who advises clients on complex transactional and contentious matters with a focus on financial services. 
 
Sophie has advised extensively on SMCR implementation, compliance and conduct rule breaches with linked regulatory investigations.  She is skilled at guiding clients through regulatory investigations and considering the advising on other regulatory employment matters at every stage of the employment life cycle.
 
Sophie is one of the authors of the Employment Practitioner’s Guide to Financial Institutions: Key Aspects of the Regulatory Framework, which was published last year.

Martin Pluves

Martin Pluves is Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of FICC Markets Standards Board (FMSB). Martin joined FMSB in November 2019 after ten years at LCH Ltd where he held the role as CEO and member of the Board since 2015. Martin led the CCP’s global clearing operations with staff in Australia, Japan, Sri Lanka, Bangalore and New York as well as in London. Leading the CCP, a systemically important global financial markets infrastructure service, meant also managing regulatory relationships with 42 international financial services regulators and central banks, including the Bank of England as lead regulator. During his tenure, Martin led LCH through a period of significant change and considerable growth.
Prior to his appointment as CEO of LCH Ltd, Martin was Chief Operating Officer of LCH, responsible for the day to day running and governance of the CCP. He chaired the Management Committee and led a number of key strategic initiatives, including the programme to integrate CCP with the London Stock Exchange Group post acquisition of a majority shareholding, and all liaison with the Bank of England Market Supervisory team.
Martin has also previously held positions of Group Head of Regulatory Change for the LCH Group and Chief Operating Officer for the OCT FX clearing business unit ForexClear, as well as various technology management positions in the LCH group of companies between 2009 and 2015.
Martin’s early career (1995 - 2009) was as Management Consultant with PA Consulting Group, in a variety of positions including latterly as Partner in their financial services practice.
