Summary

This event is being held under the Chatham House Rule and is closed to members of the press.

City & Financial Global is delighted to announce its thirteenth City Remuneration Summit taking place on 11th March 2021. The Summit is widely recognised as the most important event in the calendar for remuneration, reward and compensation specialists, attracting an array of influential and well-informed speakers and delegates.

If 2020 has been turbulent, 2021 will be even more so for City professionals. Financial institutions will have to face difficult decisions about their remuneration strategies. This is true for investment firms facing compliance with the remuneration changes in the forthcoming Investment Funds Regulation and Investment Funds Directive (or their UK equivalent) and for those affected by the remuneration and reward proposals under the Fifth Capital Requirements Directive (CRDV).

City & Financial’s Summit is unique in that it focusses exclusively on regulated firms and the particular challenges facing them in terms of balancing fixed and discretionary remuneration to reflect their culture and risk appetite. It will also, however, look at wider ESG factors including ethnic diversity and inclusion.

We are particularly delighted to welcome David Blunt, Head of Conduct Specialists, Financial Conduct Authority as our keynote speaker who will discuss the regulator’s expectations of firms when setting their reward and remuneration strategy.

Issues to be covered include:

  • The UK’s post-Brexit approach to remuneration strategy and the prudential regulation of investment firms
  • How will EU developments impact investment firms and to what extent is the UK regime likely to diverge?
  • The practical impact of upcoming CRDV developments on remuneration in banks
  • Improving ethnic and gender diversity and inclusivity

Who should attend

This event should be attended by senior management of all financial institutions, including: heads of compensation, benefits and rewards; heads of human resources; heads of regulatory HR; chief operating officers, heads of internal audit; heads of compliance; heads of legal and heads of tax, as well as by their legal and financial advisers.
