This highly topical event on Transaction and Trade Reporting Under MiFID II is part of a two year programme of events on MiFID II which we have been working on with Anthony Belchambers, former Chief Executive of FIA Europe and Chairman of the Joint Trade Association Group, who is acting as programme adviser. We have already held a very successful conference at the start of last year and two days of workshops last summer. As with the previous events, this programme is also supported by Clifford Chance, which kindly provides the venue. The new regime for transaction and trade reporting being introduced under MiFID II represents a significant overhaul and expansion of what was required under MiFID I. Furthermore, it is going to put even greater emphasis on the need for accuracy. Given the FCA’s enforcement record against inadequate reporting under MiFID I, this underscores the need for regulated firms to ensure that their implementation plans for the new transaction and trade reporting regime under MiFID II meet the requirements. Attendance at this event will prove invaluable for ensuring that your implementation project for transaction and trade reporting is on track. It will also provide a forum in which firms can discuss the IT and back office implications, as well as the impact on compliance monitoring programmes. As you are no doubt aware, the Market in Financial Instruments Regulation and Directive (“MiFID II”) will introduce the most significant changes to the conduct of financial services and the market environment since the commencement of the EU Commission’s Financial Services Action Plan. It will affect all categories of dealing, broking, asset management and advisory services undertaken by banks, non-banks and other service providers and also their corporate, institutional and retail customers. It will also have a major impact on all primary and secondary financial and commodity markets, including regulated markets, NTFs and OTFs as well as clearing houses.
This conference is accredited by both the Solicitors' Regulation Authority and the Securities and Investment Institute for 6 Continuing Professional Development Points.
